Voices won the Award of Merit assigned by the Californian festival – Best Shorts Competition – an event dedicated to short films from all over the world. Voices is the only Italian work to receive the award. It was directed by Roberto Orazi, an experienced director who had already won at the 2009 Rome Film Festival with a documentary dedicated to organ trafficking, entitled H.O.T. (Human Organ Traffic). The short Voices was made thanks to the support of Riccardo Neri, an experienced and competent producer and founder of Lupin Film.
More than 8000 works were competing, but the emotional power and impact of Voices left a mark on the jury that awarded the prize for the social justice category. An important recognition of a team effort that also involved Gianfelice Facchetti in the theatrical direction from which the short film was taken.
